Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brett The Assassin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ross Weiss! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Assassin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Weiss avoids it really well and circles away. The Assassin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Weiss but Weiss pushes him off and we're back to square one. The Assassin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Weiss to score an easy takedown into full guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Weiss stands and throws The Assassin's legs to the side, diving into side control. The Assassin prevents Weiss from moving into mount. Weiss controls the position. The Assassin wants to control but Weiss postures up. Weiss has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for The Assassin! Weiss landing shots from mount. The Assassin is breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Weiss tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Assassin keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ross Weiss was stalling too much, according to the referee. Weiss shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in The Assassin's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Weiss forces his way into half guard. Weiss controlling the action here. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The Assassin actively working from the bottom here. Weiss controlling the action here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Weiss is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so The Assassin is just riding it out for now. Weiss eventually gives up the hold.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ross Weiss was stalling too much, according to the referee. Weiss closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming The Assassin to the mat! The Assassin manages to get full guard. Weiss controlling from the top position. Weiss slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Weiss moves into full mount! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Weiss takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ross Weiss dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Weiss feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Weiss not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The Assassin preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Weiss controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ross Weiss. Weiss shoots in for a double leg but The Assassin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. The Assassin tries for a takedown but Weiss sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Weiss drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Weiss controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ross Weiss has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Weiss gets a takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Weiss takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Weiss throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Weiss sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Weiss throwing shots but The Assassin is blocking nicely. Well, if Weiss is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Weiss landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The Assassin has hold of Weiss's hands but Weiss slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Weiss trying to control the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Weiss is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Weiss with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The Assassin avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Weiss. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Weiss trying to control the pace. Weiss is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! The Assassin is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
