Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zoey Malone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chester Gates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malone's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Boy Named Sue - Johnny Cash. Gates has chosen 9 Piece as his entrance music. Chester Gates told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zoey Malone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chester Gates!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Alyssa Summers and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gates fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Malone sprawls well initially but Gates persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Gates prevents Malone from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Malone wants to control but Gates is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gates wants to take a breather but Malone is having none of it.
Malone is looking for a sweep. Gates is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Malone moves into range and clinches up with Gates.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Malone creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Malone lands an elbow that stopped Gates in his tracks for a moment.

Gates jumps guard but Malone stands there with Gates around his waist. Gates gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Gates is rocked!
Malone jerks Gates's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Gates drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Malone goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Malone because Gates was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Zoey Malone!
