The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Columbo Gatti and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staton shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Payne manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Payne is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Staton is controlling him.
Staton won't allow Payne to sweep him here.
Staton prevents Payne from getting back to his feet.
Staton's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Payne knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Staton on the ground.
Ricky Staton has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Payne thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Staton if he has to take too many more of those.

Payne scores with a head kick.
Staton looking to score a takedown here. Payne is defending well but Staton drives through and ends up in Payne's guard.

Payne pushes Staton off looking to stand but Staton dives back in and keeps control.
Staton has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Payne defend it? Staton steps over the head and cranks it - Payne is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Staton!
