Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vader connects with a high kick.
It looks like Giovani Sobrinho has been cut.
Vader fails in his attempt to clinch.
Vader doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Sobrinho cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A head kick by Vader misses
and Sobrinho connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Sobrinho tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vader paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sobrinho throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Vader manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Sobrinho on his heels. He'll look to pass Sobrinho's guard now, I'm sure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vader tries to clinch up but Sobrinho circles away and keeps his distance.
Sobrinho stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Sobrinho lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Vader tries for a takedown but Sobrinho circles away easily
and Sobrinho counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Giovani Sobrinho is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Sobrinho counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Darth Vader seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vader misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sobrinho dips to his left and cracks Vader with an uppercut!

and Sobrinho counters with a left and a right that stings Vader.
Vader clinches up with Sobrinho and pushes him back against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sobrinho lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Vader backwards.
Sobrinho lands a nice uppercut.
Sobrinho presses Vader against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Vader pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sloppy strikes from Sobrinho. Those never looked like landing.
Sobrinho might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Vader looks to throw a body kick
enabling Sobrinho to counter with a crisp jab.
Vader throws a head kick but Sobrinho moves out of range.
Sobrinho looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Vader misses with a body shot.
A right-left combo lands from Vader.
Sobrinho is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Vader had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Sobrinho tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Vader shoots in and drives through. Sobrinho sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darth Vader. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Vader closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sobrinho circles away.
Vader shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Sobrinho counters with a three punch combo that has Vader backing up. Vader nods at Sobrinho to acknowledge the strikes.
Vader is breathing heavily.
Vader tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sobrinho swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sobrinho keeps the fight on the outside.
Sobrinho connects with an inside leg kick.
Vader takes a shot right to the bread basket.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Giovani Sobrinho dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Giovani Sobrinho's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Sobrinho throws a nice outside leg kick.
Vader drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Sobrinho drops Vader with a beautiful combination! Vader stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Sobrinho is looking for the KO!
Vader is rocked!
It looks like Darth Vader has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sobrinho throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Vader's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Sobrinho dives in looking to finish as Vader flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Sobrinho's strikes! Sobrinho is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Vader's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Vader was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Giovani Sobrinho!
