The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Askaraliev with a poor takedown
and Zivic counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Zivic moves into range and connects with a jab.
Horrible takedown by Askaraliev or perhaps it was just good defense by Zivic which made him look bad.
Askaraliev on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Good standup being displayed there by Zivic as he connects with a hook.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zivic slaps away a takedown attempt from Askaraliev, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bekjan Askaraliev. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Askaraliev tries to move into range but Zivic moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Zivic moves into the clinch.
Askaraliev has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Zivic after a bit of a struggle.
Askaraliev is trying to drag Zivic to the mat but Zivic just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Askaraliev is breathing heavily.
Zivic gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Askaraliev.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Still in the clinch, Zivic scores with a nice short uppercut.
Askaraliev has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Zivic is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Zivic unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Askaraliev! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Zivic is unloading with more strikes now! Askaraliev drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fritzie Zivic!
In his post fight interview, Fritzie Zivic started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
