The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horndorf gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Hackson.
Hackson swings for the body but Horndorf moves out of range.
Hackson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Horndorf on the side of the head.

A clash of legs there as Hackson blocks the low kick.
Hackson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Horndorf.
Hackson moves into range and connects with a jab.
Horndorf will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Horndorf fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Hackson is out of range.
Horndorf fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Hackson tests Horndorf's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Horndorf on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Horndorf fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Hackson checks it well.
Hackson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Horndorf moves away.
Horndorf closes the distance and clinches up with Hackson, looking for a takedown. Horndorf pushes Hackson against the cage but Hackson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Horndorf. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hackson moves into range and connects with a jab.

Horndorf walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Horndorf. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Horndorf throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Horndorf looks for a takedown but Hackson sprawls well.
Horndorf is breathing heavily.
Horndorf tries to score with a low kick but Hackson moves his leg out of the way.
Hackson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Oh Horndorf is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hackson lands a jab to the nose.
Hackson cracks Horndorf with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Horndorf tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Hackson pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Horndorf is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Quittin Hackson!
As Quittin Hackson got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: I was injured coming into this fight but I took it anyways because I love the fans!'.
