Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shinya Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oishi Yoshio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aoki comes to the cage accompanied by come as you are. Yoshio has chosen "Stronger" by Kanye West as his entrance music. Shinya Aoki had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinya Aoki! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Oishi Yoshio! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Ren Mimura and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yoshio works Aoki's body with a nice hook. Yoshio fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Aoki shoots in and bounces Yoshio off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Yoshio is trying to keep Aoki in close.
Aoki throwing strikes but missing. Aoki stopping the sweep attempt from Yoshio. Aoki wants to control from the top but Yoshio keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aokiis looking to pass into half guard but Yoshio pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Yoshio is in guard. Yoshio must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Yoshio postures up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Yoshio misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Yoshio lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Aoki at a distance.
Aoki is breathing heavily. Yoshio tries to bum rush Aoki with a series of wild strikes but Aoki uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Yoshio lands a jab to the nose. Aoki chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Yoshio can pounce on him.

Yoshio misses with a few strikes there.
Yoshio throws a sloppy head kick and Aoki moves out of range easily. Yoshio rushes Aoki and presses him up against the cage. Yoshio unloads a knee to the mid-section. Aoki lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Yoshio holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Yoshio using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Aoki has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Yoshio scores with a hook to the body. Yoshio lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Aoki is trying to maintain a safe position but Yoshio gets an underhook and turns Aoki into the cage. Yoshio scores with a hook to the body. Aoki wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Aoki has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Yoshio is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Yoshio lands a body shot. Aoki ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Aoki no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Yoshio looking to sit in guard and control but Aoki gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Aoki won't allow Yoshio to sweep him here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. The fighters are battling for position here. Yoshio manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Aoki wants to pass the guard but Yoshio is keeping the position. Yoshio trying to control the position.

Yoshio working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Aoki doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Aoki manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Yoshio keeping moving, preventing Aoki from controlling successfully. Oishi Yoshio dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Yoshio lands an overhand right. Aoki scores a takedown into full mount! Yoshio throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Yoshio is trying desperately to improve position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Aoki moves to the back position. Yoshio trying to control but not successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aoki is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Yoshio defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Yoshio rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Yoshio wants to stand and escape but Aoki is having none of it. Aoki tries to free his leg and advance position but Yoshio is retaining full guard. Yoshio manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Aoki manages to get himself to full guard.
Yoshio stands and throws Aoki's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aoki is looking to regain half guard here but Yoshio keeps moving and retains side control. Yoshio working the strikes but Aoki uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Aoki gets full guard. Aoki looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Yoshio has picked Aoki up and slammed him! Aoki can't keep hold of the triangle and Yoshio manages to pass to side control! Aoki is not content to let Yoshio control the position. Aoki manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Aoki tries to get to full guard but Yoshio has control of the leg. Yoshio seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Yoshio seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Aoki does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Yoshio controlling the action here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Oishi Yoshio will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Aoki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. The fight moves into the clinch position. Aoki tries to stall but Yoshio uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Yoshio lands a hook that snaps the head of Aoki backwards. Aoki fails to pull guard.
Yoshio digs a right hand into Aoki's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Aoki's gas tank. Yoshio has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Aoki is trying to keep an underhook but Yoshio manages to get the takedown into half guard. Yoshio wants to lay and pray for a moment but Aoki keeps working. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yoshio is controlling the pace.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Yoshio has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aoki tries to hold on but Yoshio pushes him away. Yoshio has hold of Aoki's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Aoki manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Yoshio connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Yoshio takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Yoshio avoids the attempt from Aoki to control. Yoshio content just to control the position here. Yoshio looking to control but Aoki is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Yoshio lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Aoki hang on?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yoshio avoids the attempt from Aoki to control. Aoki is squirming around, avoiding Yoshio's attempts to control the action.
Despite being in the dominant position, Oishi Yoshio just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. An inside leg kick lands from Yoshio. Yoshio lands with a slapping head kick.
It looks like Shinya Aoki has been cut. Yoshio misses with a head kick.
Yoshio clinches up against the cage. Yoshio lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Aoki backwards. Yoshio has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Aoki clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Aoki covers up after that shot from Yoshio.

Oishi Yoshio really dominated that round. The cut man is working on Shinya Aoki's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Yoshio lands with a nice body kick. Yoshio throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Aoki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Yoshio as he avoids it easily. Aoki tries to clinch up and Yoshio counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Aoki's guard now. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Aoki has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Yoshio has passed into side control.

Oishi Yoshio dominated that fourth round. The cut man is working on Shinya Aoki's cut. That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Aoki has his takedown stuffed enabling Yoshio to counter with a crisp jab. Aoki pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Aoki doesn't succeed with the takedown and Yoshio holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Aoki tries to pull guard but Yoshio holds him up against the cage and eventually Aoki drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shinya Aoki. That's going to take a lot out of him. Aoki stalling in the clinch but Yoshio improves position. Yoshio stalls. Aoki is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Yoshio gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aoki is pressed up against the cage. Yoshio has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Aoki down to the mat. Aoki avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Shinya Aoki is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Yoshio fails in his attempt to clinch. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Yoshio. Aoki shrugs it off though. Aoki clinches but Yoshio breaks the clinch and Yoshio makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yoshio is looking to score with low kicks. Aoki shoots in for a double leg but Yoshio sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Aoki misses with a takedown attempt and Yoshio counters by clinching up. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Yoshio gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Aoki regains guard.
Aoki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Yoshio can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Yoshio looking to pass the guard. Yoshio in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Yoshio drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Aoki dives on top into guard. Aoki tries to free his leg and advance position but Yoshio is retaining full guard. Aoki drops back, looking for a kneebar! Yoshio looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Yoshio looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Yoshio! Aoki prevents Yoshio from improving position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aoki is trying to get back to half guard. Yoshio trying to control the position but Aoki is working away. Aoki is trying to control Yoshio's posture but Yoshio avoids it. Yoshio tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Yoshio working away.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Yoshio fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Aoki manages to avoid it. A nice combination there by Aoki.
Shinya Aoki has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Yoshio tries to clinch but Aoki moves out of range.
And that's the end of the fight! Oishi Yoshio comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Yoshio has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
