Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mookie Magaba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Humberto Montes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Magaba might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Three Days Grace - Animal I Have Become . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mookie Magaba! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Humberto Montes! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Dean Styles and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montes stuffs the takedown attempt from Magaba. Magaba gets slowly back to his feet. Montes lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Montes lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Magaba with a lazy takedown attempt and Montes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Montes looks to land a combination but Magaba avoids it well. Magaba takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Montes misses with a double jab.
Magaba fails with the takedown and Montes counters with a straight right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mookie Magaba. That's going to take a lot out of him. Horrible takedown by Magaba or perhaps it was just good defense by Montes which made him look bad. Magaba misses with a takedown attempt and Magaba takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Montes lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Magaba takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. This has been an exciting period of action! Magaba doesn't succeed with the takedown and Montes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Montes scores with a one two! Magaba had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Montes moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Magaba misses with a takedown attempt and Montes counters with a series of strikes. Magaba will be more careful next time no doubt. Magaba feints and as Montes raises his hands in defense, Magaba changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Magaba is breathing heavily. Magaba being controlled here momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Magaba is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Montes is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Montes has escaped and now he's on top! Montes throwing strikes but missing. Montes throws a big elbow that misses. Magaba isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Montes stacks Magaba on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Montes! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Montes wants to control but Magaba is keeping him busy. Montes throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Magaba is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Magaba actively working from the bottom here. Montes prevents Magaba from improving his position. Magaba makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Magaba. Magaba looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Montes passes into half guard.
Magaba is staying active underneath Montes, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Magaba is looking to improve his position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Montes trying to control from half guard but Magaba is working away. Magaba is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Montes scores with a couple of nice shots. Magaba is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Montes looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Magaba is refusing to be controlled, as Montes sits in half guard.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Humberto Montes hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Magaba gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Montes counters with a one-two to the body. Montes lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Montes with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Magaba gets the takedown into side control. Magaba is trying to get an arm triangle but Montes is defending well. Magaba tries to move into full mount but can't pass Montes's legs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Magaba tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Magaba is looking for a kimura but Montes is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Magaba to get the leverage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Humberto Montes will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Montes lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Montes. Montes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Magaba shoots and misses and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Magaba on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Magaba gets tackled into the cage by Montes. Montes maintains the clinch. Montes lands with a right to the head. Montes stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Montes makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. A short right hand to the side of the head by Montes. Montes scores with a nice hook to the head. Montes gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Montes cracks Magaba with a nice body shot. Magaba can't get the takedown.
Montes tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
That's one minute gone in the round. Montes digs a right hand into Magaba's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Magaba's gas tank. Montes misses with a punch to the body.
Magaba manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Magaba keeping moving, preventing Montes from controlling successfully. Magaba looking to control.
Montes wants to control from the top but Magaba keeps moving. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Montes is pushing down on Magaba's leg trying to pass to half guard. Magaba is fighting to maintain full guard but Montes has managed to sneak the leg through. Magaba on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Montes performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Magaba gets back to full guard.
Mookie Magaba overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Magaba throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Montes escapes and throws Magaba's legs to the side, diving into side control! Magaba trying to remain calm as Montes controls from the top position. This has been an exciting period of action! Montes wants to control but Magaba is keeping him busy. Magaba struggling a bit here. Magaba tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Montes wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Magaba is not content to let Montes control the position. Montes in side control, just content to control the action for now. Magaba tries to buck Montes off but Montes is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Montes trying to control the action but Magaba is working from the bottom. Montes controlling from side mount. Magaba is not content to let Montes control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Humberto Montes was stalling too much, according to the referee. Magaba closes the distance and clinches up with Montes, looking for a takedown. Magaba pushes Montes against the cage but Montes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mookie Magaba. That's going to take a lot out of him. Magaba takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Magaba throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Montes's waist but Montes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Magaba off to one side. A slapping leg kick lands for Montes.
Montes keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Montes's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Montes duly obliges.

Magaba is rocked! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nice straight punches there by Montes. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Montes. Magaba with a lazy takedown attempt and Montes counters with a nice uppercut. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Humberto Montes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Oh Magaba is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Montes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Montes looks to land a combination but Magaba avoids it well. Magaba seems to have got his legs back now. Magaba takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Magaba takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Montes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Magaba moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Montes lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Montes. Magaba shoots in but doesn't get the takedown enabling Montes to counter with a crisp jab. Magaba fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Montes to the ground. Magaba is now in Montes's guard. Magaba drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Montes dives on top into guard. Magaba keeping moving, preventing Montes from controlling successfully. Both fighters are breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Montes is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Montes wants to control from the top but Magaba keeps moving.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Humberto Montes wasn't active enough on the ground. Magaba fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Montes avoids it really well and circles away. Montes stalks Magaba and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Magaba's face. Magaba staggers backwards, shaken. Montes scores with a nice strike. Montes doesn't manage to clinch there - Magaba circles away.
Magaba looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Magaba's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Montes connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Magaba scrambles back to his feet. Montes throws a series of strikes that have Magaba backpedaling.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Montes throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

A left and a right from Montes both land. Nice combination. Montes goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Montes lands a two punch combo.
Magaba shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Magaba drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Montes manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Magaba has Montes in his guard. Magaba has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Montes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Montes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Montes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Magaba is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Magaba looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Montes passes into half guard.
Magaba is looking to get back to full guard here but Montes has managed to pass to side control instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Montes is looking to take a break and control but Magaba is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Montes creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Magaba is not content to let Montes control the position. Montes happy to just control the position for now. Magaba tries to get back to half guard but can't. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Magaba manages to work his way to half guard, despite Montes's best efforts. Mookie Magaba has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Magaba tries to get to full guard but Montes has control of the leg.
And that's the end of the fight! Humberto Montes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Montes winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
