Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Werdum closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gracie to the mat! Gracie manages to get full guard.
Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Werdum can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Werdum is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Gracie is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Gracie has escaped and now he's on top!
Gracie throwing strikes but missing.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Werdum swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Werdum looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Gracie passes into half guard.
Gracie prevents Werdum from improving his position.

Werdum is refusing to be controlled, as Gracie sits in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Werdum gets back to full guard.
Werdum looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gracie is one step ahead there.
Werdum is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Werdum keeping full guard, as Gracie tries to pass.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Werdum can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gracie controls the pace.

Thiago Gracie has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Werdum is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Gracie frees his head nicely. Oh but Werdum has switched to an armbar! Gracie is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
