Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jarez De Ertu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jarez De Ertu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jarez De Ertu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marcus James! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De Ertu shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. De Ertu controlling the position easily from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee warns James that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
James wants to control but De Ertu is having none of it. James really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
De Ertu will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. De Ertu avoids the attempt from James to control. James blocking the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Ertu thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
De Ertu takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. De Ertu looking to take James's back but James rolls and after a scramble, James ends up on top in guard. Nice escape there from James to escape a tricky position. James trying to control but De Ertu is working from the bottom. De Ertu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. James doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. James manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. De Ertu keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. James advances position into side control! James wants to lay and pray for a moment but De Ertu keeps working. De Ertu tries to improve position but can't. De Ertu manages to get back to half guard. James is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
James stalling away here and it's allowed De Ertu to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. De Ertu on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if De Ertu tries to get out of the position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now De Ertu is on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. De Ertu is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. De Ertu postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. De Ertu's corner is telling him to maintain position. De Ertu wants to control from the top but James keeps moving. De Ertu is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. De Ertu would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jarez De Ertu wasn't doing enough on the ground. De Ertu gets a takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. De Ertu is keen to just control but James is a slippery customer. James trying to control here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. De Ertu controlling the action here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jarez De Ertu dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
De Ertu defends well against a solid takedown attempt from James. De Ertu fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
De Ertu tries to score a power double leg takedown but James sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten De Ertu somewhat. James fails with the takedown and De Ertu counters by moving into the clinch. James is trying to pull guard but De Ertu turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Jarez De Ertu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus James. James is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. James is looking to take this one to the mat. De Ertu's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. James misses with a takedown and De Ertu counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Ertu works a leg free and moves into half guard. De Ertu is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
De Ertu is looking to advance position but James won't allow it. James wants to improve his position but De Ertu is controlling well.
De Ertu thows a huge punch but James dodges it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. De Ertu content to control rather than advance. James tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. James looking for submissions from an awkward position here. De Ertu lands strikes from half guard. Jarez De Ertu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. De Ertu sitting and controlling from the half guard. James is looking for a sweep. De Ertu is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

De Ertu is thwarting James's attempts to control the position. De Ertu throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jarez De Ertu. James tries for a takedown but De Ertu circles away easily and De Ertu counters with a nice double leg into half guard. De Ertu decides to stand up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. James with a poor takedown and De Ertu counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for James! James is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! De Ertu working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. James wants to hold on but De Ertu pushes him away. De Ertu looking to control and managing it successfully. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. De Ertu lands a heavy elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jarez De Ertu dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!
James closes this distance looking for a takedown but De Ertu circles away. James tries for a takedown but De Ertu sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. James shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and De Ertu counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by De Ertu. Jarez De Ertu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus James. De Ertu wants to pass the guard but James is keeping the position. De Ertu really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. De Ertu controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. De Ertu is looking to advance position but James has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! James is going oldschool here, as he tries to force De Ertu to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so De Ertu shrugs it off.

James tries to control but De Ertu wriggling away. James is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. De Ertu can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
De Ertu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for James on the ground. James looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. De Ertu is trying to escape the mount.
De Ertu takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. De Ertu manages to regain half guard. Good work. De Ertu is doing well to control the position and prevent James from advancing to side control. De Ertu wants to control but James is keeping busy and won't allow it. James prevents De Ertu from improving his position. James is trying to work for a kimura but De Ertu is defending well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! James is trying to control. De Ertu wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. De Ertu avoiding damage under a succession of punches from James.

James takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. James is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. James wants to control but De Ertu is keeping him busy. Marcus James has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! De Ertu is looking for a sweep. James is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. De Ertu avoiding damage under a succession of punches from James. De Ertu wants to improve his position but James is controlling well.

James with the ground and pound but De Ertu uses the opportunity to regain guard. De Ertu tries to land a sweep but no joy. De Ertu preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. James cracks De Ertu with a solid left hand. James is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. James trying to control the position from guard on top but De Ertu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jarez De Ertu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. De Ertu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Marcus James. I think De Ertu has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
