And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Herb Dean!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dean sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rua somewhat.
Rickson Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rua moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Dean misses with a head kick.
Rua fails with the takedown
and Dean makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Dean stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rickson Rua. That's going to take a lot out of him.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rua doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Dean counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Dean digs a good body shot into Rua's ribs.
Dean chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Dean drops Rua with a beautiful combination! Rua stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Dean is looking for the KO!
Rua is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dean throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Rua crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
