Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ultimate Warrior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Frank Mir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ultimate Warrior!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Warrior scores with a nice strike.
Warrior throws a series of punches but Mir avoids them all with ease.
Mir shoots in but Warrior avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Mir pushes Warrior up against the cage in a clinch.
Mir tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Warrior smiles and moves away.
Warrior scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Warrior defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mir.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Warrior tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mir walks into a stiff left hand from Warrior.
Mir dodges the punch combination from Warrior.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mir.
Warrior misses with a double jab.
Mir really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mir drops his hands momentarily and Warrior takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Horrible takedown by Mir or perhaps it was just good defense by Warrior which made him look bad.

Mir tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Warrior swivels and escapes.
Warrior misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ultimate Warrior is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mir shoots in but Warrior avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Mir takes a kick to the side of the head.
Warrior jabs Mir right on the nose. Mir blinks but takes it well.

Warrior keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mir is breathing heavily.
Warrior moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Mir on the wrong end of a nice jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mir is looking to clinch but Warrior is avoiding it.
Warrior stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Warrior wants it to stay on the feet.
Mir shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Warrior pinned against the cage. Warrior gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Warrior misses with a series of wild punches.
Nice straight punches there by Warrior. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Warrior.

Mir walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Warrior lands a nice hook to Mir's body. Mir takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Warrior throws a series of punches but Mir avoids them all with ease.
A nice leg kick lands there from Warrior.
Warrior is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Mir had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Warrior throws a right hand that Mir ducks under and follows up with a left that Mir also avoids with ease.
Warrior moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Ultimate Warrior seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Warrior feints a jab promting Mir to slip. Warrior then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Mir slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Mir closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Mir shoots for a takedown but Warrior saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Warrior fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mir fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Warrior looks to land a combination but Mir avoids it well.

Mir avoids the head kick by Warrior.

Mir closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Warrior's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Warrior avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mir postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Mir gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mir gets the takedown into side control.
Warrior is trying to escape the position but Mir is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ultimate Warrior dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Warrior moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Warrior cracks Mir with a right hand to the side of the head.
Mir shoots in for a double leg but Warrior sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Warrior plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Mir tries to clinch up but Warrior circles away and keeps his distance.
Mir changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Mir takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

so Mir counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mir postures up in Warrior's guard and throws a big left but Warrior blocks it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Frank Mir just wasn't active enough.
Warrior throws a right and a left that both miss.

Mir rushes Warrior and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Warrior's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Mir tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Mir fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Warrior pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Mir avoids a punch combination nicely.
Frank Mir is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Warrior defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mir.

Mir lands a nice shot that snaps Warrior's head back.

Mir shoots in for a takedown but Warrior shows good takedown defense.
No joy there for Warrior, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Warrior really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mir. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mir passes Warrior's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Mir wants to work for an arm triangle but Warrior is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Mir is trying to work for a kimura but Warrior is defending well.

Mir thows a huge punch but Warrior dodges it nicely.
Warrior is trying to stand.
Mir passes the guard and advances to mount!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Frank Mir dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Warrior lands with a hook. Mir tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Mir moves into the clinch.
Mir has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Warrior is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Mir tries to score a body lock takedown but Warrior shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Mir trying to stall but Warrior improves his position.
Mir tries to pull guard but Warrior won't allow it.

Mir takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Warrior cracks the inside of Mir's front leg.
Mir tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Warrior swivels and escapes.
Warrior bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Mir's head backwards.
A nice combination there by Warrior.
Mir explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mir will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Warrior wants to stand and escape but Mir is having none of it.
Mir engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Frank Mir has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mir.
Mir shoots for a double leg takedown but Warrior sprawls well. He's pushed Mir's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Warrior connects with a crisp jab.
Mir throws a nice looking combination but Warrior bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Warrior stuffs the takedown attempt from Mir. Mir gets slowly back to his feet.

Warrior catches Mir with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Warrior tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

A punch lands to the side of Mir 's head but he takes it in his stride.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Ultimate Warrior.
I think Warrior has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
