35 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy Johnson! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hashimoto tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Johnson was well out of range. Poor timing from Hashimoto. Johnson fails with the takedown. A slow jab from Hashimoto misses its intended target. Johnson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Hashimoto. Hashimoto connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Johnson's hands. Hashimoto scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Johnson misses with a takedown attempt - Hashimoto sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Johnson looking to score a takedown here. Hashimoto is defending well but Johnson drives through and ends up in Hashimoto's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Johnson working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hashimoto's head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Johnson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Johnson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Johnson kicks Hashimoto off and gets to his feet. Hashimoto misses with an uppercut. Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Hashimoto shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Kazuo Hashimoto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeremy Johnson. Johnson shoots in but no luck this time. Hashimoto misses with a two punch combination.
Johnson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Johnson lands in his opponent's guard. Johnson cracks Hashimoto with a solid left hand. Johnson won't allow Hashimoto to get back to his feet. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Johnson with a nice head shot there. Hashimoto is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Johnson is controlling him. Johnson trying to control but Hashimoto is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hashimoto to the ground. Johnson is now in Hashimoto's guard. Johnson throws a big right hand that misses. Johnson is in close to Hashimoto's body, working some short punches and elbows. Johnson trying to control but Hashimoto is working from the bottom. Johnson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Hashimoto is looking to stand up but Johnson isn't so interested in that idea. That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Johnson staying calm. Johnson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Hashimoto some visible discomfort.
A lull in the action here. Hashimoto tries to bench press Johnson off him but Johnson keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson has knee on belly and moves into mount. Hashimoto is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Johnson cracks Hashimoto with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Hashimoto can't escape the position.
