Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimmy Gotti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brian Kilpatrick!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gotti takes a jab right on the kisser.
Kilpatrick tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gotti sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kilpatrick somewhat.
Gotti feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Kilpatrick sprawling to the canvas! Kilpatrick rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Gotti finish him?!
Kilpatrick is rocked!
It looks like Brian Kilpatrick has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gotti explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Kilpatrick lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Sloppy strikes from Gotti. Those never looked like landing.
Gotti misses with the combination.
Gotti scores with a takedown into Kilpatrick's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Kilpatrick has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Gotti off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Gotti tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gotti throws a right hand that Kilpatrick ducks under and follows up with a left that Kilpatrick also avoids with ease.
Gotti doesn't manage to clinch there - Kilpatrick circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kilpatrick shoots for a double leg takedown but Gotti sprawls well. He's pushed Kilpatrick's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jimmy Gotti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kilpatrick looks gassed!
Gotti displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kilpatrick.
Jimmy Gotti has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Kilpatrick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kilpatrick.
Gotti lands with a good body shot.
Gotti drops Kilpatrick with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Kilpatrick looks back up at him and smiles so Gotti waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Kilpatrick is still on wobbly legs! Can Gotti finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gotti lands a huge takedown. Kilpatrick is out but the ref is slow to react and Gotti lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Kilpatrick lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jimmy Gotti!
