Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Brunner! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jake Nelson! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nelson clinches with his opponent.
Nelson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Brunner is defending well. Nelson using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Brunner is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Brunner slowing the pace effectively. Brunner jumps guard but Nelson stands there with Brunner around his waist. Brunner gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Nelson lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Nelson is looking to pass Brunner's guard but actually Brunner recovers to full guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nelson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Nelson preventing the sweep. Nelson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Brunner is trying to control the position but Nelson postures up. Nelson is looking to work some ground and pound but Brunner has wrist control. Nelson distracts Brunner with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Nelson looking to pass the guard. Nelson passes easily into side control. Nice work. Brunner avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Nelson. Brunner tries to improve position but can't. Brunner is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Nelson scores with a couple of short elbows. Nelson in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Nelson trying to control the action but Brunner is working from the bottom. Brunner is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nelson working over Brunner with some ground and pound. Brunner looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Brunner is trying to maintain the position but Nelson is very close to passing his half guard. Nelson slips a nice elbow through Brunner's hands, connecting with Brunner's forehead. Nelson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Brunner does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Nelson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Nelson connects with a nice short shot to Brunner's temple. Nelson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Brunner is rocked! Nelson wants to pass the guard but Brunner is defending well. Oh Brunner is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Nelson lands a nice short elbow. Nelson scoring with strikes to the body and head. Nelson trying to control from half guard but Brunner is working away. Brunner wants to improve his position but Nelson is controlling well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brunner is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Nelson scores with a couple of nice shots. Nelson wants to take a breather but Brunner is having none of it. Nelson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nelson scoring with strikes to the body and head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nelson looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Nelson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Brunner with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Nelson scores with a big shot! Brunner's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Brunner! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
