PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rampage Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Jackson thows a huge punch but Jones dodges it nicely.
Jones regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Jackson.
Jones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Jackson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jones's head.
Jones is pulling down on Jackson's head. It's preventing any offense from Jackson, at least for the moment.
Jackson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Jackson with a flurry of punches that miss.
Jackson throws a strike but Jones rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Jones postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Jones wants to get up but he can't break Jackson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Jones gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jackson.

Jackson scores a takedown into full mount!
Jackson unloads with some shots from mount but Jones bucks and avoids them well.
Jones in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jackson lands with some strikes.

Jones is bucking up trying to escape but Jackson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Jones is rocked!
Jackson cracks Jones with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

A less than humble Rampage Jackson misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
