Beach comes to the cage accompanied by "Empty Walls" by Serj Tankian. George Macdonald has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Sterling Beach's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sterling Beach!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, George Macdonald!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beach shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Beach is looking to clinch but Macdonald is avoiding it.
Beach uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Macdonald.
Beach tries to clinch but Macdonald moves out of range.
Beach misses with a takedown

and Macdonald counters with a shoot takedown. Beach fights it but they end up in guard.
Beach is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Macdonald is refusing to be controlled, as Beach sits in half guard.
Beach prevents Macdonald from improving his position.
Beach missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Beach is keen to just control but Macdonald is a slippery customer.
Beach is really struggling to control Macdonald but he's trying to hold on to the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Macdonald can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Sterling Beach.

Beach clinches up against the cage.
Macdonald prevents Beach from breaking the clinch.
Macdonald tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Macdonald is trying to maintain a safe position but Beach gets an underhook and turns Macdonald into the cage.
Macdonald tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Beach just stands there and leans against the cage.
Macdonald trying to land knees to the body.

Beach pulls Macdonald into guard.
Beach wants to get back to his feet but Macdonald is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Beach bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Macdonald's guard.
Macdonald is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Beach working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Beach is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Beach sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Macdonald's guard.
Beach trying to control the action but Macdonald is working from the bottom.

Macdonald looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Beach sitting and controlling from the half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Beach is trying to control. Macdonald wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Beach is trying for a kimura here. Macdonald looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Beach wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sterling Beach!
After the fight, Sterling Beach was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
