Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Antonio Silva !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rodney Coleman!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coleman misses with a few strikes there.

and Silva counters with a single leg into guard. Coleman didn't expect that.
Coleman trying to control the position.
Coleman tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Coleman is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Silva trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Silva drops back looking for a leg! Coleman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Coleman manages to kick Silva off! Silva jumps back into Coleman's guard.
Silva slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Coleman tries to improve position but can't.

Silva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Silva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Coleman is trying to control Silva 's posture but Silva avoids it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Silva goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Coleman rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Silva 's guard! Nice work there by Coleman!
Silva pulls Coleman in close to his closed guard and prevents Coleman from doing any damage or advancing position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva is looking for a triangle but Coleman pushes his legs off easily.

Silva working for a triangle but Coleman defends it easily.
Coleman wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.

Silva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Coleman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Coleman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Coleman stays in close to Silva 's body and controls the position.
Coleman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rodney Coleman was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Coleman looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Coleman tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance.
Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Coleman swings away with a body shot that misses

and Silva counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Silva trying to control but Coleman is working from the bottom.
Coleman tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Coleman pulls Silva in close to prevent any damage.
Coleman trying to keep a closed guard but Silva is proving a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rodney Coleman was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Coleman throws a head kick but Silva moves out of range.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Silva .
Coleman is looking to reverse the position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Silva thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Silva wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Coleman, who protects the arm well.
Silva is looking to take a break and control but Coleman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Coleman is trying to improve his position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Silva creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Silva thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Silva landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Silva has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Coleman clinches up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Antonio Silva dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Silva takes one to the chin there.
Coleman throws a hook to the side of Silva 's head but Silva sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Coleman tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rodney Coleman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Coleman misses with an uppercut

and Silva decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Coleman's guard.
Silva passes Coleman's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Coleman gets full guard.
Coleman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Silva passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Coleman is trying to control Silva 's posture but Silva avoids it.
Antonio Silva overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Silva is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Coleman is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Coleman is holding Silva down, trying to stall.

Silva is trying to get an arm triangle but Coleman is defending well.

Coleman is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Coleman trying to control but Silva postures up.
Coleman tries to get to full guard but Silva has control of the leg.

Silva is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Coleman is just riding it out for now. Silva eventually gives up the hold.
Coleman wants to control but Silva is keeping busy.

Silva in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Coleman tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Silva !

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Antonio Silva !
A relieved looking Antonio Silva thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
