Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sven Wegscheider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cassius Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wegscheider with a lazy takedown attempt

and Gracie decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Wegscheider's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wegscheider swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gracie really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wegscheider. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Cassius Gracie hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Wegscheider looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gracie is fending him off so far but Wegscheider persists. Nope, Gracie circles away and we're back to standing.

Gracie rushes Wegscheider and presses him up against the cage.

Gracie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Wegscheider shoots in but no luck this time.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gracie shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wegscheider's guard.

Gracie drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Wegscheider dives on top into guard.

Wegscheider misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

and Gracie counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Wegscheider's guard now.

Wegscheider is working an open guard so Gracie takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gracie seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Gracie wants to stand up but Wegscheider is controlling the position.
Gracie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wegscheider with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Cassius Gracie has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
