Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tanishk Soni! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danny Anderson! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anderson shoots for a takedown but Soni saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Soni closes the distance and clinches. Still in the clinch, Soni scores with a nice short uppercut. Soni tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Anderson's elbow. Soni gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Anderson.
Anderson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Soni breaks the clinch.
Soni rushes Anderson and presses him up against the cage. Soni breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Soni thows a body kick. Anderson tries to catch it but that hurt him. Soni is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Anderson's half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Anderson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Soni wants to control but Anderson is keeping him busy. Anderson won't allow Soni to pass to mount. Anderson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tanishk Soni has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Soni shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Anderson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Soni pushes down on Anderson's leg and manages to get into half guard. Anderson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Soni pulls his head out easily. Anderson actively working from the bottom here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Soni moves nicely into side control. Anderson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Soni's best efforts. Anderson is not content to let Soni control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anderson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Soni pulls his head out easily. Soni stands up and beckons Anderson to join him on the feet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Soni scores with a hook to the body. Anderson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Soni lands a two punch combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tanishk Soni dominated that round. The cut man is working on Tanishk Soni's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Anderson shoots in but Soni avoids the takedown attempt easily. Soni keeps Anderson at a distance using the push kick. Soni shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Soni is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Soni trying to control the position from guard on top but Anderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Tanishk Soni just wasn't active enough. Anderson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Soni. An inside leg kick lands from Soni.
That's one minute gone in the round. Soni closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Anderson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Soni after a bit of a struggle. Soni has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Anderson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Soni tries to get the hooks in deep but Anderson pushed the leg off. Soni keeps control of the position as Anderson tries to break free.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Soni is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anderson wants to escape the position.
Soni working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Anderson is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Soni has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Anderson taps out!
