Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pikku Myy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Myy's entrance music is Benny Törnroos - Käy Muumilaaksoon. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pikku Myy! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Damian Maia! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Myy with that takedown attempt. Myy misses with a two punch combination.
Maia shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Maia is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Myy is staying active underneath Maia, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Myy gets full guard. Myy utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Maia throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Maia has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Maia not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Myy looking for a guillotine here but Maia defends easily.
Myy controls Maia momentarily but Maia frees himself. Maia trying to control but Myy is working from the bottom. Maia throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Myy works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Maia trying to control but Myy is working from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Myy with a lazy takedown attempt and Maia counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Maia passes Myy's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Myy is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maia moves nicely into side control. Maia landing strikes. Maia working the body and head with strikes. Maia trying to control the position but Myy is working away. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Myy taking a bit of punishment here - Maia scoring with strikes. Myy on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Maia scoring with punches from side control. Maia thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Myy is not content to let Maia control the position. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Maia landing strikes. Maia advances to mount. Maia has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Myy's face.

Maia looking to isolate an arm here. Myy doesn't see it coming and as Maia extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Maia!
