The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nichols slips a jab and a cross from Kelly.
Nice defenses there by Kelly.
Kelly throws a jab when Nichols was well out of range.
John Terence Kelly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kelly misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kelly is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Kelly avoids the body shot from Nichols.

and Nichols counters with a nice uppercut.
Nichols with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kelly to score with a decent uppercut.
Nichols lands with a thumping leg kick.
Nichols takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Kelly fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nichols shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kelly pinned against the cage. Kelly gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nichols connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Nichols lands a lovely overhand right.

and Nichols counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kelly misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nichols avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kelly lands a nice shot to the body.
A left lands for Nichols.

Kelly drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Kelly looks gassed!
Nichols tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Kelly avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Nichols is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Kelly rolls with it to try and escape but Nichols cranks on the arm and Kelly is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
