PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sigfredo Pineda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Quigley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pineda comes to the cage accompanied by Now or Never by Dope. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Sigfredo Pineda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joseph Quigley!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pineda misses the jab.
Quigley jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Pineda on the wrong end of a nice hook.


It looks like Sigfredo Pineda has been cut.
Pineda lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
The crowd cheers as Quigley lands an impressive looking overhand right. Pineda doesn't seem phased though.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Pineda, right into the meat.
Quigley misses with a double jab.
Pineda tries to work over Quigley's front leg with a kick but Quigley checks it.
Pineda fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Quigley.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Horrible takedown by Pineda or perhaps it was just good defense by Quigley which made him look bad.
Quigley fails to land with a series of punches.
A slapping leg kick lands for Pineda.
Quigley throws a hook but Pineda avoids it easily.
That kick from Pineda tenderised Quigley's leg. Quigley is trying to keep his angry face on.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Pineda lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Quigley has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Quigley and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Quigley ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Quigley lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Quigley thows a left - swing and a miss!
Pineda tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pineda takes one on the button.
Pineda uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Quigley.
Quigley avoids the body shot from Pineda.
Quigley on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Pineda tries a head kick but it misses.
Quigley throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Pineda ducks under a wild hook from Quigley.
A jab lands there for Pineda.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Pineda.
Pineda lands a jab to the nose.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Quigley steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pineda.
Pineda is looking to score with low kicks.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fight stays on the outside here - Pineda looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Quigley misses with an uppercut.
Quigley looks to throw the jab but Pineda is out of range.

Quigley looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Pineda!
Quigley working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Pineda tries to lock up and control but Quigley gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Quigley cracks Pineda with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Quigley lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Quigley thowing shots but they're missing.
Pineda is desperately trying to improve his position but Quigley has a good base and remains in mount.
Pineda trying desperately to get to his feet.
Pineda is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Quigley lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Pineda wants to hold on but Quigley pushes him away.
Quigley unloading with bombs!
BOOM! Quigley connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Quigley fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!


Sigfredo Pineda's cut is getting worse.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Sigfredo Pineda's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Joseph Quigley!
Our winner, Joseph Quigley, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
