Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derek Safo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicolas Refn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Safo comes to the cage accompanied by Up Your Speed by Sway DaSafo. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Refn scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Refn rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Safo makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Safo moves in looking to clinch but Refn pushes him off.
Refn throws a jab but it's blocked by Safo.
Safo lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Safo slips under a jab.
A left lands for Safo.
Nice defenses there by Safo.
A telegraphed right hand from Safo misses the target.
Safo takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Refn takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Refn moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Refn works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Refn avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Safo drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Safo tries to clinch up.
Refn throws the left hand but Safo avoids the punch easily.
Refn throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Safo counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Safo walks into a left hand.
Refn takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Safo tries to clinch but Refn moves out of range.
Safo is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Refn misses with an uppercut
and Safo counters with a left and a right that stings Refn.
Refn might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Safo slips under a jab.
Refn looks to land a left hand but Safo moved out of range nicely.

Nicolas Refn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Refn takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Oooooh!!! Safo has knocked Refn down with a huge combo! Safo steps away and waves a wobbly Refn back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Refn is still on wobbly legs! Can Safo finish him?

and Safo counters with a huge left! Refn is in big trouble! He's backing up but Safo isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Refn from any more damage. A dominating finish by Safo!

After the fight, Derek Safo was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
