Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Silva throws a nice inside leg kick.
Bird should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Silva goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Bird takes a kick to the side of the head.
Silva scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Silva closes the distance and clinches.
Silva escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Silva looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Silva gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Bird misses with a hook
and Silva counters with a takedown into side control.
Silva advances to mount.
Silva working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Bird turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Silva off and cradles Bird's limp body as Silva celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Erick Silva!
During a confident post fight interview, Erick Silva thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
