Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Lowrey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dave Dameshek! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dameshek scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Dameshek wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lowrey, who protects the arm well. Dameshek has knee on belly and moves into mount. Lowrey is looking to get to half guard. Dameshek looking to control but Lowrey is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Lowrey tries to hold on but Dameshek pushes him away. Dameshek is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Lowrey is surviving well by controlling Dameshek's body position as best he can. Dameshek landing strikes, looking to finish!
That's one minute gone in the round. Dameshek trying to control but Lowrey is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dameshek throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Dameshek looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lowrey is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dameshek is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Lowrey is in real trouble.
Lowrey just trying to survive but Dameshek is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Dameshek controlling the position well here. Lowrey rolled but Dameshek kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Dameshek throwing wild punches that miss their target. Dameshek has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dameshek is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Lowrey is defending well though. Dameshek let's go of the attempt for now. Dameshek is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Lowrey knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Lowrey for a finish. Dameshek looking for the RNC. Lowrey fending off the submission attempt from Dameshek.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dameshek working for the choke. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dameshek looking for the choke from the back. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dameshek is looking to control Lowrey but Lowrey is wriggling around and keeping busy. Dameshek looking to break Lowrey's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Lowrey remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Dameshek will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dameshek fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Lowrey shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Dameshek counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Lowrey's guard now. Dameshek slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Dameshek trying to control but Lowrey is working from the bottom. Lowrey controls Dameshek momentarily but Dameshek frees himself. Dameshek trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Dameshek trying to control the position from guard on top but Lowrey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Lowrey trying to control the position.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Dave Dameshek hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Lowrey gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Dameshek counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Dameshek ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Dameshek no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Dameshek escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lowrey gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Lowrey looking to pass the guard. Dameshek keeping moving, preventing Lowrey from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dameshek pulls Lowrey in close to prevent any damage. Dameshek looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Lowrey trying to control the position from guard on top but Dameshek is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
We're going to have a standup here because Mike Lowrey wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Dameshek rushes Lowrey and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Dameshek prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Lowrey. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dameshek lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lowrey has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dameshek is working away from the top position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dameshek is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lowrey sees it coming and defends easily. Dameshek looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Dameshek performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Dameshek is thwarting Lowrey's attempts to control the position. Dameshek throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dameshek is trying to work for a kimura but Lowrey is defending well.
Dameshek controlling the action here. Dameshek looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Dameshek is figuring out what he wants to do next. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Dameshek showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Dameshek darts in and clinches Lowrey up against the cage. Dameshek has hold of one of Lowrey's legs. Lowrey is fighting the takedown attempt but Dameshek gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Dameshek loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Dameshek trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Lowrey being controlled here, momentarily. Dameshek wants to control from the top but Lowrey keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Lowrey is pulling down on Dameshek's head to control his posture.
Dave Dameshek has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Dameshek shoots in and gets a takedown into Lowrey's guard. Lowrey can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dameshek controls the pace. Lowrey keeping full guard, as Dameshek tries to pass. Dameshek is looking to work some ground and pound but Lowrey has wrist control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dameshek throwing strikes from guard but Lowrey blocks nicely. Dameshek advances to half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Dameshek wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lowrey keeps working. Dameshek is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Dameshek is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Dameshek showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dameshek postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lowrey is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dameshek, into his guard. Lowrey trying to control but Dameshek is working from the bottom. Dameshek had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lowrey defends it easily. Dameshek looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Lowrey is defending well. Dameshek quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Lowrey has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Dameshek celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
