Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Axel Whitecoat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Nitschke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Whitecoat kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Seven Nation Army. Damian Nitschke is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Axel Whitecoat! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Damian Nitschke! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Nitschke does no damage. Nitschke swings widly with a right hand
letting Whitecoat counter with a right hand. Nitschke tries to clinch up. Whitecoat fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nitschke, pushing him back against the cage. Nitschke jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Whitecoat walks away with a smile on his face. Nitschke gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Nitschke misses with an uppercut. Whitecoat saw that one coming. Nitschke wants to clinch up but Whitecoat keeps it at a distance. Whitecoat digs a good body shot into Nitschke's ribs. Nitschke changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Whitecoat tries to avoid it but Nitschke manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Whitecoat to the ground. Whitecoat escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Whitecoat throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nitschke. Whitecoat gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Nitschke counters with a shoot takedown. Whitecoat fights it but they end up in guard. Nitschke stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Whitecoat swivels though and keeps the full guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Whitecoat is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Nitschke thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! No, Nitschke has managed to get both his arms back between Whitecoat's legs - danger averted. Nitschke drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nitschke jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Whitecoat is on top in guard.
Nitschke is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Whitecoat is aware though and is defending well. Whitecoat lands a couple of digs. This has been an exciting period of action! Nitschke is looking for a triangle but Whitecoat pushes his legs off easily.

Whitecoat is trying to push Nitschke away but Nitschke has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Whitecoat's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Whitecoat fails with the takedown. Whitecoat moves away from the strike by Nitschke.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nitschke drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. A combination from Whitecoat does no damage. Nitschke uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Whitecoat. Axel Whitecoat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nitschke steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Whitecoat. Whitecoat moves out of range of the strikes. Whitecoat has managed to clinch.

Whitecoat takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Nitschke throws a leg kick but Whitecoat sees it coming and moves out of range. Nitschke tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Whitecoat paws at him with a jab and circles away. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Whitecoat paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Whitecoat takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Nitschke tries to clinch there but Whitecoat circles away.

It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nitschke wants it to stay on the feet. Whitecoat cracks Nitschke with a good jab. Whitecoat pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Whitecoat throws a combination that misses and Nitschke counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A looping hook to the body misses from Whitecoat. The fight stays on the outside here - Nitschke looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Nitschke lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Whitecoat fails to land the takedown. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A momentary lapse in concentration from Whitecoat enables Nitschke to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Whitecoat manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Nitschke drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Whitecoat manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nitschke has Whitecoat in his guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This has been an exciting period of action! Nitschke working for a triangle but Whitecoat defends it easily.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Axel Whitecoat. I think Whitecoat has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
