Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gabriel Salwa!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Phil Schofield and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salwa takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
A head kick misses from Mendez.
Mendez uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Salwa.
Mendez looks to land a body kick but Salwa moved away.
Salwa looks to land a body kick but Mendez moved away.
Mendez tries a head kick but it misses.
Gabriel Salwa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Salwa drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Mendez wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Salwa manages to pass to side control.
Well, if Salwa is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mendez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mendez tries to get out of the position.
Salwa works his foot free and advances to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Salwa lands a big shot there that rocks Mendez but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Mendez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Salwa is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mendez has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Salwa looking to control and managing it successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mendez is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Salwa unloads with some shots from mount but Mendez bucks and avoids them well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Salwa tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Salwa is working for a guillotine from mount but Mendez frees his head quite easily.

Salwa thowing shots but they're missing.

Salwa has control of Mendez's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Mendez regains control of the situation pretty easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Salwa controlling the position easily from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gabriel Salwa dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Donk. Salwa catches Mendez right on the button with a cross.
A swing and a miss from Salwa.
Mendez tries to land a front kick but Salwa steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A head kick misses from Mendez.
Mendez lands with a slapping head kick.

Salwa feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Mendez sprawling to the canvas! Mendez rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Salwa finish him?!


Mendez is rocked!


It looks like Antonio Mendez has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Salwa lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Mendez at a distance.
Oh Mendez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Antonio Mendez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Salwa shoots in for a takedown but Mendez shows good takedown defense.
Salwa tries to work over Mendez's front leg with a kick but Mendez checks it.
Salwa lands with a kick to the ribs.
Salwa fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Mendez has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Mendez seems to have got his legs back now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mendez takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Mendez walks straight into a right hand from Salwa - that's dropped him! Salwa jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Mendez from any more punishment! Mendez complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Gabriel Salwa!
During a confident post fight interview, Gabriel Salwa thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
