Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
27 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Karl De Groot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
24 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jealous Jarvae!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jarvae fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
De Groot rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jarvae moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A slow jab from De Groot misses its intended target.
De Groot throws a chopping leg kick but Jarvae manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
De Groot gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Jarvae scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Jarvae loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
De Groot escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jarvae gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jarvae drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jarvae jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Jarvae pushing down on De Groot's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
De Groot avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jarvae.
Jarvae tries to pass the half guard into mount. De Groot knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Jarvae has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Jarvae seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but De Groot does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Jarvae wants to take a breather but De Groot is having none of it.
Jarvae winds up and cracks De Groot with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jarvae lands a nice short elbow.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
De Groot looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Jarvae sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Jarvae makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jarvae.
De Groot passes Jarvae's left leg - he's now in half guard.
De Groot passes the guard and advances to mount!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
De Groot wants to take his opponent's back but Jarvae doesn't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jealous Jarvae dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
De Groot goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Jarvae tries to sprawl but De Groot drives through with a takedown into half guard.

De Groot wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jarvae keeps working.
De Groot prevents Jarvae from improving his position.
Jealous Jarvae has got the better of the ground game so far.

De Groot is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

De Groot is trying to control. Jarvae wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Jarvae manages to get to full guard.
De Groot not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

De Groot trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Jarvae manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Jarvae advances position into side control!
Jarvae working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Jarvae misses with the ground and pound.
Jarvae is working to tighten is grip on De Groot's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. De Groot has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Jarvae is really squeezing tight and eventually De Groot passes out! Jarvae breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Jealous Jarvae!
A very excited looking Jealous Jarvae made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
