Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Tabachoy Paneda! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 17 - 2, fighting out of London, Rocky Marciano! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paneda moves out of range of the body kick from Marciano.
Paneda misses with a body shot.
Paneda forces Marciano back against the cage and clinches. Paneda is looking for a takedown. Paneda can't get the takedown.
Paneda dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Paneda escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Marciano throws a head kick that misses so Paneda counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Marciano working a defensive guard here.
Paneda controls from within his opponent's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Paneda works over Marciano with some ground and pound from guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Paneda controlling from the top position.
We're going to have a standup here because Tabachoy Paneda wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Marciano gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Marciano looking for a guillotine here but Paneda defends easily.
Paneda passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Paneda controls the position. Paneda postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Paneda slows the pace down. Paneda has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Paneda thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Marciano is looking to get back to his feet here but Paneda is keeping cool and he's managed to take Marciano's back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paneda controlling the position well here. Marciano rolled but Paneda kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Paneda looking to break Marciano's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Marciano remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Paneda will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Paneda is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Marciano won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Paneda off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tabachoy Paneda!
