Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Junior Witter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Field (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luke Field told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Field misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Witter moves into the clinch successfully.
Field's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Witter blocks a leg kick.
Field moves to clinch but Witter breaks away
and Witter counters with a shoot takedown. Field fights it but they end up in guard.
Witter controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Witter seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Field for as long as he can get away with.
We're going to have a standup here because Junior Witter wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
A combination from Field does no damage.
Field pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Luke Field seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Good work by Witter as he checks the leg kick.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Witter is on top in guard.

Field throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Witter counters with a three punch combo that has Field backing up. Field nods at Witter to acknowledge the strikes.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Field enables Witter to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Field manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Witter is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

and Witter counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Field tries to clinch
and Witter makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Witter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Field circles away quickly and effectively.
Witter throws a right and a left that Field avoids nicely.
Field tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Witter counters with a left and a right that stings Field.
Field closes the distance but Witter moves to the side
and Witter counters with a big right hand! Oh Field is in trouble here! Witter follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
