Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wade Willson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Willson comes to the cage accompanied by Sugar Hill Gang - Apache. Douglas has chosen Ja Rule - New York as his entrance music. Jay Douglas struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.7lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wade Willson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Douglas! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Willson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Douglas has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Douglas and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Douglas looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Willson tries a head kick but it misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Willson. Willson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Douglas fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Willson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Douglas counters with a single leg into guard. Willson didn't expect that. Willson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Willson controlling the position. Douglas must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Willson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Willson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Douglas trying to control but Willson is working from the bottom. Willson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Willson keeping moving, preventing Douglas from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Willson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Douglas controls the pace. Douglas trying to control the position from guard on top but Willson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Willson is controlling Douglas's posture. Willson keeping full guard, as Douglas tries to pass. Douglas looking to sit in guard and control but Willson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Willson passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. You can see the frustration on Douglas's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Douglas tries to improve position but can't. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Douglas is being controlled here. Willson is looking to take a break and control but Douglas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A head kick by Willson misses and Douglas counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Douglas is trying to control the action in half guard but Willson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Douglas wants to free his trapped foot but Willson is holding on for dear life with his legs. Douglas is trying to work for a kimura but Willson is defending well.
Douglas is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Willson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Douglas. Douglas is looking to advance position but Willson won't allow it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Douglas is looking to pass Willson's guard but actually Willson recovers to full guard. Willson wants to sweep but no luck.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Douglas tries to clinch up but Willson circles away and keeps his distance. Douglas gets the takedown into side control. Douglas goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Willson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Douglas but great work by Willson. Douglas wants to control but Willson postures up. Willson controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Willson wants to control but Douglas is keeping him busy. A control attempt from Douglas but he's now mounted! Willson controlling from mount. Willson connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Willson looking to control and managing it successfully. Douglas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Willson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Willson prevents Douglas from getting the reversal. Willson looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Willson landing punches. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jay Douglas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Willson wants to clinch so Douglas counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Willson controls Douglas momentarily but Douglas frees himself. Douglas postures up in Willson's guard and throws a big left but Willson blocks it. Douglas wants to control from the top but Willson keeps moving. Douglas wants to pass the guard but Willson is keeping the position. Douglas takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Douglas looking to sit in guard and control but Willson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Douglas keeping moving, preventing Willson from controlling successfully. Douglas wants to sweep but no luck. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Douglas can do anything to dispel that myth.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Willson tries a low kick but Douglas avoids it. Willson gets the takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Willson working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Willson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Douglas wants to get back to his feet but Willson drags him back down. Willson is looking to take a break and control but Douglas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Willson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
