PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Maxim Reality (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wallace has chosen 50 Cent - Laughing Straight To The Bank as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Maxim Reality!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, James Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reality shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Wallace shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Reality pinned against the cage. Reality gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Reality shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wallace as he avoids it easily.

Wallace drives through and clinches with Reality against the cage.
Wallace connects with a knee to the head.
Wallace putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Reality in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Wallace breaks the clinch.
Reality dives in and grabs Wallace's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wallace pushes down on Reality's head and hops out.

Wallace shoots in and gets a takedown into Reality's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wallace accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Reality really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Reality is trying to control the position but Wallace postures up.
Wallace is looking to work some ground and pound but Reality has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wallace stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reality swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Reality is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Wallace wants to control from the top but Reality keeps moving.

Wallace lands a couple of digs.

Reality keeping moving, preventing Wallace from controlling successfully.

Reality trying to keep a closed guard but Wallace is proving a slippery customer.
Wallace lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Reality pushes Wallace off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Wallace gets to his feet. Reality looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

so Wallace counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wallace wants to control from the top but Reality keeps moving.
Wallace is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Wallace stands and steps away. Reality gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Reality tries to reverse the position but Wallace maintains control.
Wallace has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Reality's face.
Reality is bucking up trying to escape but Wallace cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Oh Reality is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wallace lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Reality hang on?
Wallace loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Reality scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Wallace land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Wallace stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Wallace!
A relieved looking James Wallace thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
