The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wolodyjowski throws the kick towards the body but Funk avoids it.

Wolodyjowski walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Funk checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Funk shoots in for a double leg but Wolodyjowski sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Wolodyjowski gets caught napping as Funk dives in and scores a takedown. Wolodyjowski manages to retain guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wolodyjowski feints and then cracks Funk's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Funk down.

Some bone on bone action there as Funk checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Wolodyjowski throws a lazy right hand but Funk sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Funk drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Wolodyjowski dives on top into guard.

Funk working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wolodyjowski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wolodyjowski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wolodyjowski has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Funk is proving hard to escape from.
Wolodyjowski is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
