A fine choice. Montana has chosen Glass Joe as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Joe Montana acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montana tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hoy swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Montana tries to bum rush Hoy with a series of wild strikes but Hoy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Montana throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Montana throws a jab when Hoy was well out of range.
Montana misses with a straight right.
Hoy throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Montana tries to clinch up.
Montana bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Hoy connects with a good right hand that stumbles Montana. Montana circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Hoy fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Lath Hoy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Montana misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Montana misses the shot to the body.
Montana swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hoy showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Montana.
Hoy throws a series of punches but Montana avoids them all with ease.
Montana displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hoy throws out the jab.

Hoy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Montana looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Hoy has hold of Montana's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Montana tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Hoy cranks the arm and Montana screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Montana, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Lath Hoy!
