Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Too Cold Scorpio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arizona Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arizona Reed has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Too Cold Scorpio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Arizona Reed!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Eddie Farnsworth and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reed lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Scorpio backs up against the cage.
Scorpio throws a right and a left that both miss.

Reed looking to score a takedown here. Scorpio is defending well but Reed drives through and ends up in Scorpio's guard.
Scorpio controls Reed momentarily but Reed frees himself.
Scorpio is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Reed is controlling him.
Scorpio trying to keep a closed guard but Reed is proving a slippery customer.
Reed is pushing down on Scorpio's leg trying to pass to half guard. Scorpio is fighting to maintain full guard but Reed has managed to sneak the leg through.
Reed really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Scorpio. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Scorpio is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Reed stalling.

Reed is looking to pass Scorpio's guard but actually Scorpio recovers to full guard.
Scorpio wants to stand up but Reed is controlling him.

Scorpio is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Reed lands a couple of elbows.

Scorpio escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Reed gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Reed trying to control the position from guard on top but Scorpio is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Reed throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Scorpio utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Reed throws a big elbow that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Reed postures up.

Reed looking to sit in guard and control but Scorpio gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Scorpio is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reed loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Reed pushes down on Scorpio's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Scorpio pushes Reed off looking to stand but Reed dives back in and keeps control.
Reed is taking a breather. Scorpio says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Reed missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Reed is looking to advance position but Scorpio won't allow it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Scorpio wants to get back to full guard.
Reed tries to pass the half guard into mount. Scorpio knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Arizona Reed dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Scorpio keeps the fight on the outside.
Nice takedown defense from Reed. No joy for Scorpio on that attempt.
Reed tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Scorpio paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Reed takes the fight into the clinch.
Scorpio wants a takedown.

Reed has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Scorpio uses from the top position.
Scorpio really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Scorpio thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Arizona Reed has got the better of the ground game so far.
Reed seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Too Cold Scorpio.
Scorpio doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Reed counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Too Cold Scorpio. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Scorpio avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Reed tries to close the distance and clinch but Scorpio swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Reed throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Scorpio was covering up waiting for the punch and Reed finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Scorpio can't keep his opponent in guard - Reed advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Scorpio pushes Reed off looking to stand but Reed dives back in and keeps control.
Scorpio trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Reed is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Reed throws a strike but Scorpio avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Scorpio tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Reed throws an elbow that misses. Scorpio uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Reed's guard. Nice move by Scorpio!

Reed wants to sweep here but Scorpio controlling him for the moment.
Scorpio will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Arizona Reed showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Reed closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Reed tries to pass to full mount but Scorpio defends it.

Scorpio is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Reed pulls his head out easily.
Reed thows a huge punch but Scorpio dodges it nicely.
Scorpio throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Reed missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Reed looks to land a strike but Scorpio avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Reed trying to control but Scorpio is working from the bottom.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Reed's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Scorpio looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Reed has picked Scorpio up and slammed him! Scorpio can't keep hold of the triangle and Reed manages to pass to side control!
Scorpio managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Reed.
Scorpio is not content to let Reed control the position.
Scorpio manages to get back to half guard.

Reed looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Reed tries to pass the half guard into mount. Scorpio knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Arizona Reed hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Scorpio circles away from the clinch attempt.

Reed shoots for a takedown but Scorpio saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
The fighters circle momentarily. Scorpio darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Arizona Reed is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Scorpio lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Reed displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Scorpio.
Scorpio loads up on a big right hand but Reed slips the punch.
Scorpio tries to bum rush Reed with a series of wild strikes but Reed uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Reed tries to score a power double leg takedown but Scorpio sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Reed somewhat.
Too Cold Scorpio has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arizona Reed.
Reed tries to clinch up but Scorpio circles away and keeps his distance.
Scorpio misses the shot to the body.
Scorpio fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Reed manages to avoid it.

Scorpio darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Reed wants to improve his position but Scorpio is controlling well.
Too Cold Scorpio has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

I would just about give that final round to Arizona Reed.
Well Reed has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
