Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cole Farrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cole Farrell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hugo Santos! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santos misses with a head kick.
Farrell circles away from the clinch attempt.
Farrell wants to clinch up but Santos keeps it at a distance. Farrell is looking to clinch. Farrell tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Santos manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Farrell displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Santos. Farrell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Santos as he jumps to the side. Santos darts in and clinches Farrell up against the cage. Farrell tries to pull guard but Santos won't allow it.
Santos is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Farrell is defending well. Santos jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Farrell walks away with a smile on his face. Santos gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Cole Farrell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hugo Santos. Farrell shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Santos as he avoids it easily. Santos is trying hard to land a takedown here. Farrell sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Farrell shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Santos sprawls well. Santos wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Farrell gets slowly back to his feet. Farrell gets the takedown into side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Farrell tries for a kimura but Santos is defending well. Santos wants to get back to his feet but Farrell drags him back down. Farrell wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Santos, who protects the arm well. Farrell lands a nice forearm strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santos is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Farrell off and has taken his back! Farrell is having to fend off submission attempts from Santos, who is looking to sink in the choke. Santos doesn't have the hooks in though and Farrell manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard. Santos looks gassed! Santos is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Farrell wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Farrell tries for a takedown but Santos manages to get underhooks.
Santos jumps guard and drags Farrell to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Farrell wants to get up but he can't break Santos's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Farrell stands and steps away. Santos gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Farrell shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Nice sprawl there from Farrell as Santos shoots in. Farrell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Farrell gets tackled into the cage by Santos. Santos maintains the clinch. Santos is looking for a takedown. Farrell manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Santos sitting in guard, not really doing much. Santos in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Farrell is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Santos is controlling him. Santos gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Santos closes the distance and clinches. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A battle for position here, against the cage. Santos breaks from the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A right-left combo lands from Santos. Santos keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Hugo Santos will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Santos gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Farrell trying to control the position from guard on top but Santos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Farrell wants to pass the guard but Santos is keeping the position. Santos looking for a guillotine here but Farrell defends easily.
Farrell not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Santos is breathing heavily. Santos is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Farrell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Farrell wants to control from the top but Santos keeps moving.
Cole Farrell has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Farrell gets tackled into the cage by Santos. Santos maintains the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santos is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Farrell to keep the fight standing. Santos has Farrell pushed against the cage. Farrell wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Santos has him pressed against the cage. Santos escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Farrell shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Santos sprawls well. Santos wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Farrell gets slowly back to his feet. Santos displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Farrell. Farrell shoots in but Santos avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cole Farrell. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Santos gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Santos won't allow Farrell to get back to his feet. Santos throws a big right hand that misses. That's four minutes gone in the round. Santos tries to free his leg and advance position but Farrell is retaining full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Hugo Santos. Santos circles away from the clinch attempt and Santos counters with a nice body kick.
Farrell shoots in looking for a takedown but Santos manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Farrell's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Farrell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Farrell wants it to stay on the feet. Farrell keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Farrell fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Santos avoids it really well and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Hugo Santos will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Santos forces Farrell back against the cage and clinches. Farrell has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Santos avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Farrell missing with knees to the body.
Santos is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Farrell gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Farrell struggles to land a body shot inside as Santos controls his hands.
Santos decides to pull guard. Cole Farrell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Farrell is looking to advance position but Santos has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Santos prevents Farrell from getting the reversal. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santos misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Santos sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Santos looking to ground and pound but Farrell is blocking nicely. Farrell wants to hold on but Santos pushes him away. Farrell tries to get back to half guard but can't. Santos thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Farrell is trying desperately to improve position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santos lands a big elbow. Santos is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Farrell can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Farrell wants to control but Santos is having none of it. Santos thowing shots but they're missing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santos looking to control and managing it successfully. Farrell avoids a series of strikes thrown by Santos.

Santos is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Santos controlling from mount. Santos's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Santos stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
And that's the end of the fight! Hugo Santos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Santos has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
