The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bates looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Bates is fighting off a takedown attempt but Vieira is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bates to the mat. Bates regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
