The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Champ shoots in for a takedown but Progresso shows good takedown defense.
Champ avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
A slapping body kick lands there for Progresso.
Progresso throws a head kick that misses.
Progresso connects with a solid leg kick.
Progresso throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Champ.

Earnie Champ seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Champ is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Progresso throws a leg kick but Champ sees it coming and moves out of range.

Champ takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Champ is trying desperately to land a takedown but Progresso is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Champ.
Progresso tries to close the distance and clinch up but Champ swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Champ closes the distance and clinches up with Progresso, looking for a takedown. Champ pushes Progresso against the cage but Progresso circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Progresso closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Progresso slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Progresso fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Champ to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Champ looks to clinch but Progresso throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Champ taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
