Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Eric Esch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maxim Grigoriev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Esch kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Butter Bean song. Grigoriev has chosen Buju Banton - Walk Like A Champion as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Eric Esch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Maxim Grigoriev!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grigoriev tries to clinch up but Esch circles away and keeps his distance.
Grigoriev wants to clinch
and before Grigoriev can reset, Esch rushes him with a swarm of punches, sending him crashing to the floor, in all sorts of trouble! Grigoriev is trying to beat the count but we're up to 6 already and he's nowhere near. 7,8... he's up! He's going to continue!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Grigoriev tries to clinch but Esch moves away
and Esch counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Grigoriev has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Eric Esch!
Eric Esch bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
