Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Karl Grossman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Patton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grossman comes to the cage accompanied by The Devil's Rejects. Patton is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Marilyn Manson - Born Villain . Karl Grossman has the better chin. 17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Michael Patton!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grossman darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Patton lands a body shot.
Grossman doesn't manage to clinch there - Patton circles away.
Patton walks into a left hand.
Karl Grossman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Grossman dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Grossman throws a right hand that misses
and Patton counters with an outside leg kick.
Patton avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Grossman tries to clinch up.
Grossman throws a leg kick that is checked
and Patton counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Patton scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Karl Grossman has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Grossman throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Grossman connects with a right hand. Patton shakes it off.
Grossman cracks a nice hook into Patton's ribs.
Grossman takes a swing at Patton's ribcage but misses.
Patton stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Grossman.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Grossman tries to close the distance and clinch but Patton swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Patton blocks a head kick by Grossman.
Patton misses with a hook.
Grossman throws a leg kick
and Patton counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Patton throws a low kick but Grossman avoids it.
Grossman connects with a right hand. Patton shakes it off.
Patton moves out of range of the body kick.
Grossman wants to clinch.
Patton lands a brutal head kick. Grossman looks out on his feet and Patton throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Michael Patton!
