The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalypsi is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ubereem's half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Kalypsi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ubereem does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

and Ubereem makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Kalypsi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ubereem is looking to slow Kalypsi down with leg kicks.
Ubereem connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Ubereem defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kalypsi.

Ubereem cracks Kalypsi with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Kalypsi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ubereem's waist but Ubereem gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kalypsi off to one side.

Kalypsi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ubereem leaves Kalypsi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ubereem cracks Kalypsi with a good jab.
Kalypsi shoots in but no luck this time.
Ubereem drops Kalypsi with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Kalypsi! Ubereem dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
