Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack Poldi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Carlos Quintana!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poldi avoids the body shot from Quintana.

Poldi fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Quintana looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Quintana closes the distance and clinches.

Quintana is pressed up against the cage. Poldi has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Quintana down to the mat. Quintana avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Quintana uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Poldi.

That kick from Quintana tenderised Poldi's leg. Poldi is trying to keep his angry face on.
The fighters circling - Poldi throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Quintana misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Carlos Quintana is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Poldi stalks Quintana and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Quintana's face. Quintana staggers backwards, shaken.
Quintana doesn't manage to clinch there - Poldi circles away.

It looks like Carlos Quintana has been cut.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Quintana is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Poldi paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Quintana misses with a low kick.

Quintana tries a low kick but Poldi avoids it.

Quintana lands a big head kick that sends Poldi tumbling to the mat! Quintana takes a step backwards and waves Poldi back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Jack Poldi has been cut.
Quintana moves in looking to clinch but Poldi pushes him off.
Poldi uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Quintana has time to react.

Quintana closes the distance and clinches.

Quintana looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Quintana using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Poldi has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Poldi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Poldi cracks a nice hook into Quintana's ribs.

Poldi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Quintana sprawls well initially but Poldi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Poldi lands a nice short elbow.
Poldi wants to take a breather but Quintana is having none of it.

Poldi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Poldi is trying to work for a kimura but Quintana is defending well.
Quintana tries to roll over but Poldi keeps him under control.

Poldi seems to be looking for submissions.

Quintana has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Poldi is working away from the top position though.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Quintana is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jack Poldi will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Quintana throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Poldi changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Quintana scores with the left hand. Poldi knows he should have avoided that one.
Quintana throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Poldi bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Quintana works Poldi's body with a nice hook.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Quintana cracks Poldi with a left hook right on the temple and Poldi goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Quintana lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Poldi is OK!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Carlos Quintana!
Carlos Quintana really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Happy Pills logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
