Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Martelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Hendo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gabriel Martelli! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jay Hendo! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Mauricio Rocha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martelli throws a sloppy head kick and Hendo moves out of range easily. Hendo stuffs the takedown. Hendo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Martelli looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Hendo throws a strike aimed at the side of Martelli's head but Martelli avoids it well. Martelli tries to escape but Hendo is in control. Hendo in side control, just content to control the action for now. Hendo working the head and body with strikes. Hendo stands up and beckons Martelli to his feet. Martelli fails with the takedown and Hendo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Martelli! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hendo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hendo thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Martelli manages to regain half guard. Good work. Hendo sitting and controlling from the half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Martelli pushes Hendo off looking to stand but Hendo dives back in and keeps control.
Hendo perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Hendo has eaten all the pies!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jay Hendo was stalling too much, according to the referee. Hendo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hendo works over Martelli's head and body with a nice combination. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hendo moves into the clinch successfully.

Martelli tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hendo paws at him with a jab and circles away. Hendo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Hendo with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hendo throwing shots but Martelli is blocking nicely. Hendo takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hendo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hendo is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Hendo is trying to work for a kimura but Martelli is defending well.
Hendo throws a strike but Martelli avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hendo content to stall in guard here. Hendo landing with the ground and pound. Martelli keeping moving, preventing Hendo from controlling successfully. Martelli wants to get back to his feet but Hendo is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hendo controls from within his opponent's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jay Hendo dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Hendo closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Martelli's guard. Hendo decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Martelli, up you get! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hendo is defended easily by Martelli. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hendo. Martelli is looking to clinch. Hendo closes the distance and clinches. Martelli has hold of one of Hendo's legs. Hendo is fighting the takedown attempt but Martelli gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Martelli wants to control from the top but Hendo keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hendo manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Martelli rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Hendo content to control rather than advance. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Hendo sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Martelli defending well though. Hendo stalling away here and it's allowed Martelli to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Jay Hendo has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hendo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jay Hendo. Hendo throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Martelli counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hendo! Hendo tries to hold on but Martelli postures up. Hendo is desperately trying to improve his position but Martelli has a good base and remains in mount. Hendo tries to lock up and control but Martelli gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Martelli will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Martelli tries to control but Hendo wriggling away. Hendo is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hendo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Martelli trying to control but Hendo is having none of it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Martelli pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Hendo tries to hold on but Martelli postures up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Martelli pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. A nice elbow there by Martelli. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Jay Hendo will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

and Hendo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Martelli gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hendo to score an easy takedown into full guard. Martelli looking to control.
Hendo decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Martelli, up you get! Hendo throws a series of punches but Martelli moves out of range. Hendo throws a head kick that misses. Martelli shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hendo sprawls well. Hendo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Martelli gets slowly back to his feet. Hendo fails with the takedown.

Martelli goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Martelli manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hendo on his heels. He'll look to pass Hendo's guard now, I'm sure. Hendo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Jay Hendo has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Martelli pushes Hendo up against the cage in a clinch. Hendo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Hendo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hendo wants it to stay on the feet. Martelli gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Martelli is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hendo stands up from Martelli's guard - Hendo perhaps looking for a knockout. Gabriel Martelli is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Martelli shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hendo as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gabriel Martelli. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hendo wants to clinch. Hendo fails with a takedown attempt. A combination from Hendo does no damage. Hendo dives in and scores a takedown into Martelli's guard. Hendo wants to pass the guard but Martelli is keeping the position. Martelli is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Martelli is looking to stand up but Hendo isn't so interested in that idea. Hendo is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Hendo stands up and waves to Martelli to follow him. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hendo looking to score a takedown here. Martelli is defending well but Hendo drives through and ends up in Martelli's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Jay Hendo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hendo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
