Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Plant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marley Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Green has chosen war drums as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robert Plant! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marley Green! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Green keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Plant drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Plant in side control, just content to control the action for now. Plant wants to control but Green is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Plant thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Plant wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Green, who protects the arm well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Plant tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Plant staying calm. Plant tries for a kimura but Green is defending well. Plant is breathing heavily. Plant stands up and beckons Green to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Green pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nice sprawl there from Green as Plant shoots in. Green throws a right and a left that Plant avoids nicely. Green looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Green stuns Plant with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Green misses with a double jab.
Plant tries for a takedown but Green sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert Plant. That's going to take a lot out of him. Green lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Plant fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Green sprawls well initially but Plant persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Plant is working for a submission of some sort.
Plant is pressing down on Green's thigh, looking to free his foot. Green is holding on for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Plant trying to control the pace. Plant decides to return to a standing position. Plant looks for a takedown but Green sprawls well. Plant takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Plant blocks the body kick.
Plant shoots for a double leg takedown but Green sprawls well. He's pushed Plant's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Nice shot by Green. Green lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Plant takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Green tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Green shoots in and bounces Plant off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Green is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Plant trying to control the position.
Green wants to control from the top but Plant keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Marley Green will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
The fighters circle momentarily. Green darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Green changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Green has his takedown stuffed and Plant counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Plant is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Plant is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Green reverses the position - he's now on top in Plant's guard. Green controlling from the top position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Plant looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Plant escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Green gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Plant looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Green passes into half guard.
Green is nestled in close to Plant, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Robert Plant overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Plant has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Green is working away from the top position though. Plant is looking for a sweep. Green is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Plant is holding on to half guard well. Plant is trying to maintain the position but Green is very close to passing his half guard. Plant slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Plant trying to control the position here. Plant lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Green! Plant jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Green is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Green and Plant has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Plant decides to stand up, so the ref orders Green to his feet. Plant takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Plant scores a takedown into full mount! Plant is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Plant!
