Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Munch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samir Nasri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Munch could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Samir Nasri's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, John Munch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Samir Nasri!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Paul Tew and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nasri rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Munch moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Nasri feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Munch is looking to stand up but Nasri isn't so interested in that idea.
Munch is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Nasri trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Nasri throwing strikes but missing.
Nasri trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Munch manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Munch looking to sit in guard and control but Nasri gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Nasri won't allow Munch to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nasri pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Munch is keeping the position for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Samir Nasri.
Nasri lands with a shot to the body.
Munch closes the distance but Nasri moves to the side
and Nasri counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Munch thinking.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Munch throws a jab when Nasri was well out of range.

Nasri dives in and scores a takedown into Munch's guard.
Munch is breathing heavily.
Nasri throws an elbow that misses. Munch uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Nasri's guard. Nice move by Munch!
Nasri is looking to stand up but Munch isn't so interested in that idea.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Munch trying to control the position from guard on top but Nasri is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Nasri has momentary wrist control but Munch slips an elbow through the middle.

Nasri has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Munch off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Nasri shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Munch's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nasri tries to free his leg and advance position but Munch is retaining full guard.
Nasri chips away with some ground and pound.
Nasri throwing strikes from guard but Munch blocks nicely.
Nasri wants to control from the top but Munch keeps moving.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Munch is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Munch thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Nasri's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Samir Nasri dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Munch tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nasri swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Nasri fails to land with a series of punches.
Nasri shoots for a double leg takedown but Munch sprawls well. He's pushed Nasri's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Nasri misses with a wild combination.
Nasri shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Munch sprawls well. Munch wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nasri gets slowly back to his feet.
Munch clobbers Nasri with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Nasri looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Munch gets a clinch.
Munch prevents Nasri from breaking the clinch.
Nasri has Munch pressed against the cage, preventing Munch from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
A frustrated look appears on Munch's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Nasri tries to break free but Munch pushes him back against the cage.

Munch manages to break the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Nasri gets tackled into the cage by Munch. Munch maintains the clinch.
Munch is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Munch with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Munch breaks from the clinch.
Nasri fails to land the takedown.
John Munch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Samir Nasri.
Nasri tries to bum rush Munch with a series of wild strikes but Munch uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Munch lets loose with a powerful body kick. Nasri will feel that in the morning.
John Munch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nasri is breathing heavily.
Munch shoots in for a takedown but Nasri shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Munch tries to clinch up.
Nasri takes a kick to the side of the head.
John Munch is winning the standup battle so far.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Munch jabs Nasri right on the nose. Nasri blinks but takes it well.
A head kick misses from Munch.

Nasri shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Nasri looking to sit in guard and control but Munch gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Munch drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Nasri manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Munch has Nasri in his guard.
Nasri really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Munch. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Munch is looking to stand up but Nasri isn't so interested in that idea.
Nasri wants to control from the top but Munch keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Munch preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Munch really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Munch is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Munch is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Nasri is keeping busy.

Munch fails to land the takedown.
Munch pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Munch uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Nasri.
Nasri avoids the body shot from Munch.
Nasri cracks Munch with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Nasri's corner calls for a 1-2. Nasri obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Munch takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Nasri tries to bum rush Munch with a series of wild strikes but Munch uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Nasri is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Munch is in big trouble! Nasri is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Munch. Poor guy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Samir Nasri!
