Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ai Za! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Saku Katsumoto! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Katsumoto moves away from the strike by Za. Za jabbing away but nothing is landing. Za throws a looping overhand right but Katsumoto ducks down to avoid it. Za throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Katsumoto sees it coming and avoids it easily. Za throws a low kick but Katsumoto moves out of range easily. Za throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Za fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Katsumoto is out of range. Katsumoto slips under a jab. Za cracks Katsumoto with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Za misses the body punch and Katsumoto counters with an outside leg kick.
Za scores with a jab. Katsumoto clinches. Za has picked Katsumoto up - he's going for a ride! Za dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Za seems to be looking for submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Za frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Katsumoto is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Za working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Katsumoto is looking to improve his position but Za isn't that keen on the idea. Za lands a heavy elbow. This has been an exciting period of action! Za looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Katsumoto tries to hold on but Za pushes him away. Za scoring with strikes but Katsumoto is staying in there.
Katsumoto is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Katsumoto is trying desperately to improve position. You get the feeling that Katsumoto really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Za with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Za pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Katsumoto is still in real trouble! Can Za finish him? Katsumoto really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Za. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Za with the ground and pound from mount. Katsumoto is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Za looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Katsumoto covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
