Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Benton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bako King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sam Benton could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bako King's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sam Benton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bako King! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Josh West and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! King swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and King takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Benton throws a poor cross that misses
and King counters with a shoot takedown. Benton fights it but they end up in guard. Benton is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst King is controlling him. Benton trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. King showing good wrestling skills to control the position. King throws a big elbow that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. King won't allow Benton to get back to his feet. Benton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. King won't allow Benton to get back to his feet. Benton keeping full guard, as King tries to pass. King drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and King jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. King wants to control from the top but Benton keeps moving. Benton wants to stand but King is controlling the position. Benton preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. King is standing up over Benton. Benton looks to escape but King dives into side control.
King is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Benton is pushing King's head away, looking to escape. King manages to hold on to the position though. Benton is breathing heavily.

No, Benton has escaped the position, nice work there. Benton is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. King looks up at the clock and then as Benton takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, King smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! King landing strikes.
It looks like Sam Benton has been cut. King wants to lay and pray for a moment but Benton keeps working. King has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Benton taking a bit of punishment here - King scoring with strikes.

King is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Benton's half guard. King looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Bako King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Benton has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Bako King showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Sam Benton's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. King misses with a few strikes there.
Benton pulls out of a head kick attempt.
King tests Benton's chin there with a solid looking shot. King tries to score a power double leg takedown but Benton sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten King somewhat. King will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
And that's the end of the fight! Bako King comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well King has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Bako King! A very excited looking Bako King rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
