Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Slaven Donnech (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Dyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dyer has chosen Viva La Vida as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Shawn Dyer will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Slaven Donnech! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Shawn Dyer! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Glass and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Donnech throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Donnech scores a takedown into full mount! Donnech tries to control but Dyer wriggling away. Dyer keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Donnech swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Dyer is now in Donnech's guard. A big mistake from Donnech there, giving up the dominant position! Donnech is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Donnech has a closed guard, preventing Dyer from standing up.

Donnech wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Dyer is now in half guard. Dyer blocks the strikes from Donnech.
Donnech works his way to full guard. Good work. Donnech is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Donnech punching from the bottom - just letting Dyer know he's still in a fight.

Donnech is looking for a sweep. Dyer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dyer seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Donnech wants to improve his position but Dyer is controlling well.

Dyer must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Dyer wants to stand but Donnech has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Donnech looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dyer throws out a powerful jab. Donnech changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dyer tries to avoid it but Donnech manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dyer to the ground. Dyer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Dyer throws a head kick that misses. Donnech feints and as Dyer raises his hands in defense, Donnech changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Donnech working some strikes from top position. Donnech in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Donnech throwing strikes but missing. Donnech trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Donnech has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Donnech trying to control the position from guard on top but Dyer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Donnech has gone for a leg lock! Dyer slips out almost immediately though and dives into Donnech's guard. Dyer wants to control from the top but Donnech keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Donnech looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Dyer would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Donnech looking for a sweep. Not yet Donnech, not yet. Dyer wants to stand but Donnech is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. A punch combination from Donnech misses. Donnech jabbing away but nothing is landing. Donnech drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Donnech throws an elbow but Dyer slips to the side and avoids it well. Donnech looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Donnech throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Dyer works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Donnech winds up and cracks Dyer with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Dyer trying to hold on to Donnech's head to control him but Donnech postures up.
Still in half guard, Donnech seems content to control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dyer is trying to stand.
Donnech seems to be looking for submissions.

Dyer lands with a cross. Donnech fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Dyer is looking to clinch. Donnech closes the distance and clinches up with Dyer, looking for a takedown. Donnech pushes Dyer against the cage but Dyer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Dyer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Donnech lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Donnech fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dyer sprawls well initially but Donnech persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Donnech missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Dyer is looking to control Donnech's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dyer avoid being mounted?
That's one minute gone in the round. Dyer controlling the position well. Dyer tries to get to full guard but Donnech has control of the leg. Donnech with the ground and pound but Dyer uses the opportunity to regain guard. Donnech in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Donnech preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Dyer keeping moving, preventing Donnech from controlling successfully.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Dyer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Donnech.
Donnech feints and as Dyer raises his hands in defense, Donnech changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Donnech working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Donnech looking to pass the guard. Donnech loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Donnech passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Donnech stands up and beckons Dyer to his feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Dyer is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Dyer lands a really nice looking cross but Donnech seems unphased.
Donnech closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Donnech is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Donnech perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dyer is looking to escape. Donnech is keen to just control but Dyer is a slippery customer. Donnech prevents Dyer from standing back up.

Slaven Donnech clearly takes that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Donnech looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dyer is fending him off so far but Donnech persists. Nope, Dyer circles away and we're back to standing. Donnech tries for a takedown but Dyer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Donnech blocks a head kick by Dyer.
Dyer gets caught flat footed, as Donnech shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Donnech stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dyer swivels though and keeps the full guard. Dyer wants to sweep here but Donnech controlling him for the moment. Dyer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Donnech sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dyer's guard. Donnech tries to pass to full mount but Dyer defends it. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Donnech thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dyer's head. Donnech sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Dyer defending well though. Donnech seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dyer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Donnech misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Slaven Donnech. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dyer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Donnech closes the distance looking to clinch and Dyer counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Donnech is lucky that one didn't land flush. Dyer misses with a low kick. Dyer darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Donnech changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dyer looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Donnech tries to advance to mount but Dyer instead regains half guard. Dyer wants to improve his position but Donnech is controlling well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Donnech controlling the action here. Dyer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Donnech. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Dyer is looking to control Donnech's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dyer avoid being mounted? Donnech is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Dyer has managed to free his arm - good work. Donnech wants to free his trapped foot but Dyer is holding on for dear life with his legs. Dyer has hold of Donnech's hands but Donnech slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Donnech is looking to take a break and control but Dyer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close fourth round but I would say that Slaven Donnech will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Donnech tries to close the distance and clinch but Dyer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Dyer misses with a head kick.
Donnech gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Dyer counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Dyer throws a head kick that half lands.
Donnech closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dyer circles away. Dyer comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Dyer lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Donnech misses with a shot to the body and Dyer counters with a flying knee that drops Donnech!
Donnech is rocked! Donnech throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Oh Donnech is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Donnech looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Donnech seems to have got his legs back now. Dyer has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Donnech is proving hard to escape from. Dyer stands up and waves to Donnech to follow him. Donnech throws a leg kick and Dyer counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Donnech darts in trying to clinch and Dyer connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Donnech tries for a takedown but Dyer circles away easily and Dyer counters with a head kick. That will keep Donnech thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Slaven Donnech. That's going to take a lot out of him. Donnech lands a right hook to the body.
Donnech throws a lazy head kick and Dyer counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Dyer waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Donnech. Donnech fails with the takedown and Dyer counters with a slapping leg kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Donnech takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

and Dyer counters with a leg kick. Excellent takedown into side control there by Donnech. Shawn Dyer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dyer wants to get back to his feet. Donnech working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Dyer tries to bench press Donnech off him but Donnech keeps the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dyer takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Donnech has hold of Dyer's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Dyer tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Donnech cranks the arm and Dyer screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Dyer, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
