0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Al Danos! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Al Danos tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Fernando counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Al Danos's guard now. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Fernando thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Al Danos looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Al Danos controls Fernando momentarily but Fernando frees himself. Fernando advances position into side control! Fernando wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Al Danos, who protects the arm well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Fernando tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Al Danos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fernando. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fernando has knee on belly and moves into mount. Fernando has isolated one of Al Danos's arms. Al Danos looking to fight him off but Fernando twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!

A very excited looking Jose Fernando made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
